DAN PLATTE
Coach Dan Platte has 10 years of coaching experience and joined the Thunder in 2023 as the Middle School boys coach. He has coached multiple age groups through the years and has a passion for sharing his love of team basketball.
Coach Platte played high school basketball in Augusta, Georgia. He started coaching recreational basketball when his children were little. He attended the University of Georgia and graduated with a BA in marketing. Eventually, he coached his own children’s teams, where he enjoyed the process of introducing kids to the game and being in a competitive and Christian environment. Dan has three children who play with Thunder and has served one year on the Thunder board.
One of his favorite verses is: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
